Live in Texas but I want to give a gift certificate for a restaurant to a friend who lives in Bozeman. Recommendations?

I would agree: Ted's Montana Grill, Montana Ale Works, Louies Down Under. Sir Scott's Oasis in Manhattan or The Rib and Chop house in Livingston. All contact info is listed in the restaurant guide on this site.

Do your research before suggesting Ted's Montana Grill. With fifty locations nationwide, the new location in Bozeman is the first of this chain to open in Montana. Think this is authentic Montana dining? Think again. The menu includes things like tuna (try catching that on the Madison) and garden burgers. They serve one single cut of real beef, and it's probably shipped in from Nebraska.

I, for one, am ashamed that such a restaurant represents Montana in other states.

I have to say after going to Teds a few times, it's not that great, and certainlynot authentic, Scott's oasis is better for us!

Not excited 'bout restaurnants in Bozeman. I will drive to Butte for Fred's Mesquitte Grill.. or Misoulla.

iF YOU WANT TO VISit a Califorcationized type style restaurant in BozeMaN then vistit MacKenzie River Pizza or the train wreck downtown.

I highly recommend the Lemongrass Thai Restaurant. I have been to their establishment dozens of times and know for a fact, that they are the only "authentic Thai" restaurant in the area. The one owner, Pam, has all the recipies as a third generation Thai person. The owners are great people, and will personally meet and greet you on a personal level. This town has needed a true Thai restaurant for years, and now we have finally have that place to wine and dine. They are located beside the Sola cafe and do quite the business over there. I have waited with my wife for over an hour, and was very pleased with the service and food. If it is Thai food that you seek, you really should check them out.
